What’s Your Treasure, Where’s Your Treasure?
What’s Success To You?
DO NOT STORE UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES ON EARTH, WHERE MOTH AND RUST DESTROY, AND WHERE THIEVES BREAK IN AND STEAL. BUT STORE UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES IN HEAVEN, WHERE NEITHER MOTH NOR RUST DESTROYS, AND WHERE THIEVES DO NOT BREAK IN OR STEAL; FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO. MATT 6:19-21
What do you spend your money on?
If you had more money, what you spend it on?
For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Tim 6:10
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for he Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” Heb 13:5 Jesus is enough, He is always enough.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing (treasures) in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph 1:3
All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. Col 2:3 You can’t buy wisdom or knowledge
I (Job) have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the WORDS of His mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12 words can contain enormous treasures
“Your word I have treasured (hidden) in my heart, That I may not sin against You. Ps 119:11
Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching (WORDS) you have heard from me, with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Guard the treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.2 Tim 1:13-14
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Matt 13:44
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Cor 4:7 (TLT)
This book of the law (WORDS) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have SUCCESS. Joshua 1:8
God said to Solomon, “Because you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge THAT YOU MAY RULE MY PEOPLE over whom I have made you king, 12 wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor those who will come after you.” 2 Chron 1:11-12
EVERYTHING WE LEARN AND BECOME AS WE SIT WITH JESUS, IS TREASURE
Let God grow in you His treasures
God entrusts us with the treasure He deposits into us from pastors, teachers, other people, and in our quiet time with Him.
You have to guard your treasures, and your time for seeking treasures, or someone might come and rob you.
Also, you need to be careful not to rob others of their time for seeking treasure (talking to them during worship for instance)
When we live according to God’s will
When we seek Him first for who He is
When we yield our lives to Him
When we seek His treasures – He may bless us with worldly treasures – And if He does this, what will our response be
